The current conflict in Georgia over South Ossetia is proving to be many things to many people: a new Cold War; World War III; the new Vietnam/Afghanistan/Chechnya; a 21st century Prague Spring; the emergence of the new Russia; the decline of the U.S. as sole superpower; a war of hotheads; a war of cold calculation. Given the disparity and the variety, it's clear that a single narrative is not possible or likely productive.

With that in mind, I've tried to pull together information that's informative and thought-provoking based on my time spent in the region.
