Northampton Airport
www.NorthamptonAirport.com
This was a rebuild of an existing site which meant the clients had a good understanding of what they wanted, and most importantly, what they didn't. The old site had been restrictive both in design and upkeep. Mostly HTML-based without any database or dynamic attributes, the site's maintenance could only be done by a single tech-savvy person. The site layout was wide open without standards or structure. Setting them up in a dynamic content management system allowed them to move away from offline web editors like Dreamweaver completely and opened up the maintenace to regular office staff with only a small amount of training. The web-based administrative area means updates can happen anytime, anyplace. In reworking the look and feel of the site, there was an emphasis on small, fast-loading graphics and a baseline level of usablilty across browsers and operating systems. To ease the burden of updates, several RSS feeds, including weather and updates from the image gallery, are imported hourly to the front page freshening up the content without the hassle. |
